This legal notice applies to the entire contents of the Website under the domain name www.procurementlawyers.org (the "Website") and to any correspondence by e-mail between us and you. Please read these terms carefully before using the Website. Using the Website indicates that you accept these terms. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the Website. The Website is owned and operated by the Procurement Lawyers' Association ("PLA").

1.1 Unless otherwise stated, the copyright and other intellectual property rights in all material on the Website (including without limitation text, logos, photographs and graphical images) are owned by the PLA or its licensors. All rights are reserved. 

1.2 You are permitted to print and download extracts from the Website for your own personal use, provided that no documents or related graphics on the Website are modified in any way.  You may also copy materials on this Website to third parties  for a non-commercial purpose, provided that any such copy is accurate and not misleading, is provided free of charge, acknowledges the PLA as its source and prominently features both this limited right to copy and the www.procurementlawyers.org web address.

1.3 Save as expressly set out in this notice, no part of the Website may be reproduced or stored in any other website or included in any public or private electronic retrieval system or service without the PLA's prior written permission.  Any commercial use of extracts from the Website is prohibited without the prior written consent of PLA.

1.4 You may provide a link (but not a framed link) to this Website from any other business information or business service web site, but not (save with our prior written agreement) in any way which creates the impression that we are associated with or have approved such other site.

3. MEMBERSHIP

3.1 To enjoy the full benefits of the PLA, you may join as a member.  For a description of the benefits of membership and details of how to join, please consult our Membership page. 

3.2 The fees for joining as a member will be at our currently listed price and is payable in advance ("Membership Fee"). Membership is for a minimum 12 month period, with an option to renew for further 12 month periods.  Membership Fees are non-refundable. 

3.3 We may cancel your membership at any time if you do not pay your Membership Fee.  You may cancel your membership at any time by contacting us.  We reserve the right to refuse membership.

4. Privacy

4.1 Any personal information you submit through the Website or by correspondence to the PLA is covered by the Data Protection Act 1998 and will be kept in accordance with this Act.  For the purposes of the Act, the PLA is the Data Controller.  The PLA shall only use the data submitted by you to respond to your comments or enquiries.  The PLA does not share email addresses or other contact details with any other organisations without your consent. 

4.2 We may collect and process the following data about you:

4.2.1 Information that you provide by filling in forms on our Website;

4.2.2 If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence;

4.2.3 Information which you supply in the course of registering for membership of the PLA;

4.2.4 We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them; and

4.2.5 Details of your visits to our Website including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.

4.3 We use information held about you in the following ways:

4.3.1 To ensure that content from our Website is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer;

4.3.2 To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes;

4.3.3 To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us;

4.3.4 To allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so; and

4.3.5 To notify you about changes to our service

4.5 We may employ cookie technology (small text files websites can use to recognise repeat users and facilitate users' ongoing access to and preferences within a website -they pose no threat to users' files, nor do they contain personal information) to allow users to move more quickly through our Website. We do not and will not use cookies or any other technology to track or report on user activity when users are not on our Website, nor will we pass user data to other websites.

5. Governing Law

This legal notice shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Disputes arising in connection with this legal notice shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
